Christmas Eve, 2005

Dear Parrish,

We all miss you for so many reasons, not least of which your Linzertorte, but also to be sure your candied fruits. Dad's are much too tough and leathery. And we miss yours. Anyway, I thought since we are all missing you so much that I would take a moment to write you a blog posting to say how much we all wish you were here and tell you about some of the things which we have been doing in your absence.

Ann & Craig arrived last night, and today has been quite sedentary. Craig and I did make a run out to Brookwood Mall to pick up last minute gifts (I needed something for BB & ARS). Other than that we have been keeping a low profile and avoiding the malls. We've been reading large tracts out of your gift to Dad last year...America, the Book. It has provided much mirth. I also thought you might like the fact that I bought a copy of Trent Lott's book, whose title is "Herding Cats" as a gift for Ann Randol. I hope she finds it as humorous as I do.

I have now some pictures for you:

Preparing the duck on friday night.

Dad, with his swedish meatballs.

The meatballs come with special sauce...

The Ole Potato Sausage. Tasty, mmm good.

At least, David SAID it was good...???

Mom & Lucky, taking a break.

Finally, sitting down to christmas eve dinner...no wild rice & chicken casserole. The meatballs were kind of like beef stroganoff, but then without the mushrooms, onions, and spices. It was good, but we all missed you!
